About Studio Amber Isabel
Since 2014, Brenda Amber Isabel designs and manufactures porcelain interior objects for her label Studio Amber Isabel such as; lampshades, crockery and other home accessories. The porcelain objects are made by hand from start to finish, which makes each item unique.
The studio is located in the middle of the woods of Alphen (NB) and through this direct contact nature is a recurring source of inspiration. Organic shapes are the most important starting point in her work. Work that is carried out in a minimalist style so that the refined details and finish are central.
With the porcelain products, Amber Isabel brings peace to the chaos of every day. They easily merge into an interior that is constantly in motion. The work is able to find a place in any interior and is not bound to the given time.
“I have always had an incredible urge to design. I get inspired by everything and spend a lot of time imagining how I can turn this fascination with my surroundings into a porcelain object.
Porcelain is such a beautiful thing, it is something that transcends time. I love turning a liquid and changing material into something substantial and eternal. Molding the porcelain is very grounding and often messy, but when you open the kiln and hold the result in your hands, it is as precious as it is elegant. The tension between transparency, residual space, matteness and tactility is what gives my work the resulting tension. ”
