Founded in 2021 by Chichi, our story began with a simple desire: to create something unique that comes straight from the heart. The name Makagi comes from Igbo, Chichi's Nigerian roots, and means "For You"—a reminder that each of our candles is made specifically for you.

From thought to craft
It all started when Chichi, frustrated with her job during the pandemic, came across handmade body candles. Fascinated by the combination of art and functionality, she decided to pursue this creative path. This is how Makagi was born. What started as a personal passion project evolved into a brand that celebrates individuality, femininity and empowerment.
