At Christmas 2013, Claus Hattesen fostered the idea for a new licorice candy. "We deserve something better" was the mantra in the following years, when the family turned and turned the idea of a "gourmet licorice candy". In June 2016, the first boxes of Hattesens Lakridskonfekt were sold in the shop at the harbor in Ærøskøbing.
Through our clear choice of natural and pure ingredients right from the start, the quality was almost a given. Plenty of freeze-dried berries replaced some of the sugar, giving the squares clear colors and a great flavor. The licorice, cooked on wholemeal rice flour and 10% raw licorice gives the licorice confection a terrific depth and aftertaste.
"Less sugar more taste" is the king idea behind the licorice confection, which contains only the best ingredients: freeze-dried berries and fruits, as well as natural oils.
