Information
Risography is a technique where you use a duplicating machine to print colours separately, layer by layer.
The result is somewhat reminiscent of screen printing.
Risography uses semi-transparent inks based on vegetable oil (soy or rice).
Due to the technology, each print is slightly different, which makes each riso print unique.
Designed & printed by VrijFormaat at their studio in Utrecht.
Ink colours: blue, fluor pink and yellow.

VrijFormaat is all about illustrative graphic design. Dutch designers Joke van de Fliert and Esther van de Visch have been working together for many years on all kinds of projects in their studio in Utrecht. They work both analog and digitally and research all kinds of design and illustration within various techniques, like drawing, painting, embroidery and printing. And ever since buying their own risograph, they have been captivated by this inspiring technique. Risography is a technique where you use a duplicating machine to print colours separately, layer by layer. The risograph prints on low temperature and uses semi-transparent inks based on vegetable oil (soy or rice). The result is somewhat reminiscent of screen printing.
