At the beginning of June 2018 I was confronted with yet another news item about the plastic waste problem. This time a pilot whale was the victim. Washed up on a beach in Thailand with no less than 8 kilos of plastic in its stomach!
At that time I was on vacation in Samos. Here I became aware that this is not so much a problem in Thailand alone… everywhere in the streets of Samos I came across plastic waste. A few days later, on June 5, 2018, it was World Environment Day. That was the message on the wall for me: I have to do something about this.
The plastic waste mainly consists of disposable plastic bags. Fortunately, there are more and more bans. Yet shops still sell plastic bags.
And I want to get rid of that!
With our NoMorePlastic bags I want to offer you an alternative to the plastic bag(s) you use for your groceries. The bags are made from recycled bed linen and tablecloths. With the many fun and local prints, I hope there is always one that you like!

Founder NoMorePlastic Begin juni 2018 werd ik geconfronteerd met het zoveelste nieuwsbericht over het plastic afval probleem. Dit keer was een griend het slachtoffer. Aangespoeld op een strand in Thailand met maar liefst 8 kilo plastic in z’n maag!
Op dat moment was ik op vakantie op Samos. Hier werd ik mij ervan bewust dat dit niet zo zeer een probleem is in Thailand alleen… overal in het straatbeeld van Samos kwam ik plastic afval tegen. Een paar dagen later, op 5 juni 2018, was het World Environment Day. Dat was voor mij het teken aan de wand: hier moet ik iets mee doen.
Het plastic afval bestaat voor het grootste gedeelte uit plastic wegwerp tasjes. Daar komen gelukkig steeds meer verboden op. Toch verkopen winkels nog steeds plastic tassen.
En daar wil ik vanaf!
