What is Yerba Maté?
South American Maté tea is rich in flavor, antioxidants, and history. The Guaraní people were the first to discover this plant and not shortly after named it the 'drink of the gods'. And for a good reason: yerba maté is famous for the many antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals it holds. Maté leaves are naturally caffeinated, giving you a pleasant boost!
Our green Yerba Maté
We only use green, smooth, and airdried maté for our blends. It is sustainably harvested in the Atlantic Rainforest, where it grows amidst the native flora and fauna of the region - so not on a massive plantation, and bought straight from the farmer. This is what gives our yerba mate a fresh, green, and unique taste. Easy to get used to and very tasty!

Mr. Maté is the first Dutch maté brand offering green yerba maté blends. Why yerba maté? Yerba maté is a South American tea native to the Atlantic Rainforest. In South America, people love and drink Maté daily. For good reason: yerba mate is famous for its many antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Next to that, maté contains a dose of caffeine to kickstart your day! Our green yerba maté We use only the best, organic, non-GMO green yerba maté for our blends. Green Maté is smooth in taste and contains a high amount of antioxidants. It is sustainably harvested in the Atlantic Rainforest, where it grows amidst the native flora and fauna of the region. Harvesting the leaves by hand and only once every two years allows the Maté plants to regenerate naturally and minimally impacts the environment. This is what gives our maté its fresh, green, and unique taste. And tastes even better in our Blends... Our unique Blends are made by hand and only contain dried fruit and herbs, no sugar or aroma! All of this, traditionally drunk from a gourd (calabaza) with your own filter straw (bombilla)!
