The Matcha Spoon Chashaku is a unique and handmade bamboo tea scoop that is specially designed for dosing matcha powder. This elegant and functional accessory is indispensable for any traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
The bamboo is bent into the characteristic spoon shape with great care and patience using steam. Unlike metal spoons, this bamboo scoop does not charge statically. This causes the matcha powder to slide almost completely from the spoon into the tea bowl.
After use, the spoon can simply be wiped with a clean, dry cloth. If the Chashaku does get wet, it can be cleaned under running water and air dried so that no matcha powder remains.
