They are printed with water-based inks on PaperWise paper, made from 100% agricultural waste. By using plant residues instead of trees, no forests are cut down and significantly less water is needed in the production process. What would otherwise be waste becomes something meaningful again.
The paper’s natural tint, visible fibres and rounded corners create a unique and timeless retro look.

Hi! I am Saskia Heijmans, illustrator. I've been decorating the world with drawings since I was first allowed to hold a crayon. I like to create little stories without words with my illustrations. Fragments and snippets that inspire you to tell your own story. They are about nice, sad or funny things. Beauty can be found in everything and I love to show that. In 2016 I started my own stationary brand illu-ster. The range initially included cards, prints, journals and calendars, which has expanded over the years to include an extensive range of gift items, wich I mostly produce in my own studio. In 2021 I decided to work fulltime at illu-ster and started to offer my products to resellers. I'm happy to say illu-ster was received well and has since then grown a lot! I think it's really important that my products are sustainable, Therefore I use as little packaging as possible and have all my cards printed on a beautiful type of paper that is made from 100% agricultural waste. I produce many products in my own studio, such as the enamel mugs. I look for sustainable ideas and solutions for my product development and packaging. Such as, for example, cotton shopping bags made from organic cotton and Fairtrade produced. I also re-use boxes and plastic for shipping. Love, Saskia
