Asphodel® Raw Strawberry Tree Honey is wildcrafted in Olbia, Sardinia (Italy) by bees that pollinate the native Arbutus Unedu Bush during a short seasonal window in autumn. This Honey is a natural and rare resource with a much higher content of polyphenols and flavonoids than other types of honey.
The Strawberry tree Honey is a beautiful and rare resource with considerably higher levels of enzymes, polyphenols and flavonoids than found in other honey. It is truly one of Mother Nature's special gifts to us.
The honey is filled in glass jars. Sardinia is a small and isolated region, which affects its resources and production possibilities.

Asphodel is a community of italian beekeepers from the uncontaminated island of Sardinia that decided to put together their effort to sell their local, raw, wild and natural honeys to the world with particular focus on Bitter Honey. Our products come from a selection of the best honey on the island, in particular the corbezzolo one, after a tough work performed every day all along the year avoiding pesticides and artificial nutrition. We are particularly concentrated on producing the best and unique honeys of our island such as corbezzolo honey which is only present in Sardinia one of the five Blue Zones of the World. Our honey is produced in a Blue Zone area, one of the five locations in the world where people live longer thanks to its diet: the honey is an important part of this diet and makes the difference in the quality of the centenary people that live there. Our dream is to become the first community of sustainable beekeepers to produce both for the local and the external markets with no use of pesticides nor additional sugar to feed bees: we only produce natural and raw honey. We are also committed to increasing the chance of small beekeepers to find a sustainable market to give them the opportunity of producing natural bee products without being forced by market rules to maximize production through the addition of chemicals or antibiotics.
