Hi! My name is Tessa. I started 9teas because I am addicted to tea and because I believe that loose leaf tea is not only the best, but also the best for our planet. What has always bothered me with most tea brands is the amount of waste produced for a cup of tea. All that waste and plastic ends up in our nature! I thought it must and could be better! And with that thought I started 9teas.
At 9teas we only sell loose tea and you can taste that difference. Fortunately, loose tea is becoming more and more popular, but many people still opt for the convenience of a prepackaged (plastic) tea bag and that is a shame. Because besides the fact that a tea bag contributes to the waste problem and often consists of billions of microplastics, a lot of flavor is lost when tea leaves are ground into the fine powder that is in a tea bag. Did you know that some tea bags not only contain plastic but are also bleached? At 9teas we hope to be able to change this.
At 9teas we think it is important to burden the environment as little as possible. We are therefore proud to say that our packaging is fully recyclable and 100% plastic-free.
More tea, less waste. Hi! Mijn naam is Tessa. Ik ben 9teas gestart omdat ik verslaafd ben aan thee en omdat ik geloof dat losse thee niet alleen het lekkerst is, maar ook het beste voor onze planeet. Wat me altijd heeft gestoord bij veruit de meeste theemerken is de hoeveelheid afval die geproduceerd wordt voor een kopje thee. Al dat afval en plastic belandt uiteindelijk in onze natuur! Ik dacht dat moet en kan beter! En met die gedachte ben ik 9teas gestart.
Bij 9teas verkopen we alleen losse thee en dat verschil proef je. Losse thee wordt gelukkig steeds populairder, maar toch kiezen veel mensen nog steeds voor het gemak van een voorverpakt (plastic) theezakje en dat is zonde. Want naast het feit dat een theezakje bijdraagt aan het afvalprobleem en vaak bestaat uit miljarden microplastics, gaat er veel smaak verloren wanneer theeblaadjes worden vermalen tot het fijne poeder wat in een theezakje zit. Wist je dat sommige theezakjes niet alleen plastic bevatten maar ook worden gebleekt? Bij 9teas hopen we hier verandering in te kunnen brengen.
Bij 9teas vinden we het belangrijk om het milieu zo min mogelijk te belasten. We zijn daarom trots om te kunnen zeggen dat onze verpakkingen volledig recyclebaar en 100% plasticvrij zijn.
