It was a moment of transition. Having spent a long time in Timor-leste, becoming more than acquainted with the beauty of Bali, it was time for a new step in life.
Although not knowing what we look for, we found more than we could imagine. The unique, laidback style of Indonesian and Timorese artisans. Natural materials with warm tones. Everything we saw made by hand in small, independent workplaces. Most of all, so much character, in everything.
A few pieces became a lot of pieces; a lot of pieces became Uma Cantik. Drawing from our time living on the beautiful island nation of Timor-Leste, we decided that we wanted something special. Something unique. Something that would truly reflect the spirit of the Indonesian and Timorese artisan. Something that would change the dynamic of your home, of any home, in a heartbeat.
