Information
Our recycled drawstring bin liners are made from at least 90% post-consumer recyclate (PE), i.e. plastic that has already been used, including plastic packaging from household recycling collections. This conserves resources because no new crude oil needs to be extracted for the raw material and because recycling PE generates significantly lower CO₂ emissions than producing virgin granulate.
Certification - Blue Angel
The Blue Angel is the environmental label of the German Federal Government and provides guidance when shopping. The DE-UZ 30a award criteria distinguish products in which at least 80% of the plastic content consists of post-consumer recycled plastics and whose content of harmful substances is limited.
All-rounder in the home and business
Our drawstring bin liners are suitable for both recyclable and residual waste collection. They are made from a mono-material (PE) and are therefore highly recyclable. The film-free packaging - a banderole made from FSC-certified kraft paper - can also be recycled in waste paper.
When the bags are used for residual waste, the high heating value of the material used (PE) comes into play during subsequent waste incineration: this allows a large amount of energy to be recovered. As long as fossil raw materials such as crude oil are still burned to generate energy, it also makes sense to use the same material (PE) to manufacture such products beforehand.

• Excellent handling: thanks to the integrated tear-off strip, the band can be effortlessly removed from the roll. The excellent tear-off perforation of the bags enables effortless separation from the roll. The feel of the film is pleasant.
• Safe to use: With a thickness of 22 micrometres, the bags are leak-proof, tear-proof and waterproof.
• Drawstring: The sturdy drawstring makes it easy to tie and comfortable to carry.

As a student, our founder Arne noticed almost 100 dog waste bags lying on the side of the road in 2013 while jogging around Hamburg’s green spaces and canals over a distance of approx. 5 km. Shocked by the sheer number of plastic bags, the desire arose to solve this problem and reduce the negative impact of plastic on the environment. In the same year, Arne developed biodegradable dog waste bags for cities and municipalities, together with a Swiss company. This makes him one of the world’s pioneers in this area. In 2016, he founded The Sustainable People. The Sustainable People is a manufacturer of eco-friendly designed innovative everyday products in the areas of pet supplies, garbage disposal and packaging. Together with our customers, we help to reduce the environmental impact of plastic. Our core range includes dog waste bags and garbage bags made of different materials and in different sizes. We also offer suitable accessories. In order to keep the environmental impact of plastic as low as possible, we pursue the following approach: the materials used are made of certified home-compostable, bio-based or recycled / recyclable plastic in order to save resources and protect the environment. This was an interactive map in which users could enter the places where they found dog waste bags in the environment. With this environmental project, we were able to reach over 7 million contacts through reporting in various media and thus contribute significantly to raising public awareness of the problem. This consists in the fact that the bags usually used consist of approx. 90 % conventional plastic. Fatal and much more problematic than with shopping bags: dog owners understandably like to walk their dog in green spaces or by the water - where it is particularly painful when the bags are released into the environment. In 2016, The Sustainable People GmbH was founded. Since then, our young company has developed rapidly. Many of our B2C products are already available in hundreds of shops and inspire our environmentally conscious customers.
