Studio Dutches is a graphic design agency in Megen. Under the name Dutches Patterns, designs are designed and products developed with a passion for colorful, geometric patterns. The collection currently consists of cradle-to-cradle sketchbooks, giclée art prints and silk scarves, but more designs will certainly be added. Production takes place - if possible - in the Netherlands as much as possible (tips are welcome). Dutches is open to collaboration with makers, brands and producers. THE DESIGNER The pattern-based art and products are created by Dutch graphic designer Karin Verputten, who graduated with honors from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 1989. After 30 years of working for clients, it was time to rediscover her personal visual language. The graphic patterns formed intuitively and without an end goal, at first tightly in their grid, but later the patterns began to have a mind of their own. These unique patterns are captured in the Giclée art prints. Curaçao, where Karin grew up and later lived and worked for many years, nourished her love for color. She is also passionate about Japanese architecture and crafts that bring to life the attention to details and respect for beautiful materials. This inspires her to use only the best, high-quality and sustainable materials and to collaborate with local manufacturers.
