Information
This wall circle is exclusively available at Seemly
Cool, that Scottish Highlander on the wall circle. And unique, because our 'Highlander' is not available anywhere else on the wall circle. The photo of this Scottish Highlander was taken exclusively for Seemly.
The story of the Scottish highlanders
They look so cute with those long hair. And in fact, a Scottish Highlander wouldn't hurt a fly. But they are strong. They know their original origins in, as the name suggests, Scotland. There it is also called the 'Highland cow'. It is a reddish-brown breed of cattle with long hair and long horns.
Reddish brown color
Until the mid-19th century, Scottish Highlanders were mainly black in color. If the story is true, Queen Victoria visited the Scottish highlands around 1840 and stated that she especially liked the red highlanders. A decree stipulated that the red highlanders had to be further bred and so the black ones slowly but surely disappeared. So it is not surprising that when you see a Scottish Highlander you immediately think of the red color.
A wall circle is safer than a real one
The figures show that you cannot simply bring a Scottish Highlander into your home; an adult bull weighs around 800 kg and a female quickly reaches 500 kg. When fully grown, a highlander's head is about 1.5 meters high. They are not dangerous, but they remain wild animals. So if you bring a Scottish Highlander into your home, it's better to put it on a wall circle :-).
More wall circles with Scottish Highlanders
Our 'Highlander' is the most popular wall circle on Seemly.nl. And therefore also the most popular in our collection of Scottish Highlanders. We have three more wall circles with Scottish Highlanders called Highlander II, III and IV. Each of these wall circles has its own character. Just like every highlander has.
