It is not simply a tin box; it is a container of life. If you shake it, you will hear the sand from **Carbonaia Beach (Tuscany, Italy)**, collected on a summer day when I spent a wonderful time with Elisa and Enea.
The seashells come from **Marzamemi (Sicily, Italy)** and were gathered by my best friend during his summer holiday.
It is a box of memories—mine and his.
At the center of the composition stands a delicate female figure poised on tiptoe, dressed in a light ballet tutu. In place of her torso and head, however, appears the body of a mackerel, creating a hybrid creature suspended between the human world and the marine realm. The image evokes an impossible ballerina, both elegant and subtly ironic.
Surrounding the figure are real seashells attached to the surface, introducing a three-dimensional element and reinforcing the connection to the sea. The background, characterized by soft grey tones and subtle shading, creates a quiet, dreamlike atmosphere, as if suspended outside of time.
The tin box, painted in an aqua-green shade, immediately recalls the world of the sea and found objects, while the dimensionality of the shells adds depth and texture to the piece.
