The Mates story is rooted in a passion for sailing where experiences and unique moments are central. Combine that with a background in beverages and Mates is born. Our journey began with a group of friends who, united by
their love of rum & beautiful moments, wanted to create a brand that reflected their shared values of friendship and authenticity. The name is simply from former housemates, or; Roommates -> Rummates -> MATES.

We were determined to create a rum that was not only exceptional tasted, but also aligned with our values of honesty and sustainability. By carefully selecting rums from renowned distilleries in Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Trinidad, we have developed a range of products that satisfy both the demanding palate of rum lovers and those new to the world of rum. Each blend is crafted to perfection, ensuring that every sip is a rich and satisfying experience.
