We all know it. The classic and timeless café chair or wiener chair that we have all tried to sit in while enjoying a cup of coffee or a light lunch.
- But few people realise that it's a chair with a history dating back to 1861, and very few know that it originated in the Czech Republic, says Hana Andersen, one half of the company HP Interior Nordic in Ravnkilde.

She herself has a pair of Viennese chairs dating back to 1890 that she bought at an auction, and they still hold up in their original condition.

The manufacturer is named TON after the Czech Michael Thonet, who started producing furniture 160 years ago in a small town in the east of what is now the Czech Republic.
