I specialize in wildlife, domestic and farm animal photography, capturing their essence, power and beauty on camera. You will also find landscapes, plants and natural structures in my portfolio. I treat the animals as equals, which is why my photos show so much more of the nature of the animals and convey much more than other nature photographs.
Photographing my 'models' from above is out of the question for me. That can sometimes mean that I lie on my stomach in the mud and literally wallow with the pigs. It's like a dialogue with the animals.
I prefer to focus on breeds of animals that have quickly become invisible in our everyday lives: endangered breeds of domestic animals and wild animals. I capture both the species-typical and the individual character of the individual animal. I approach plants and landscapes with the same devotion — open, willing to fully engage with my subject. The result is images that get to the bottom of nature.
