A matter of the heart
Who are the people behind Ecobain?
There are for example Ermine, Sevcan, Gülay and Rukiye. The cloths are woven on traditional looms in the heart of Turkey, knotted and tied by hand. Each knot is unique :-)
With my direct partnership with the local families, I guarantee fair and social working conditions where the women earn money independently. This helps to further develop women's rights (power to the women!) and supports small and medium-sized businesses. There are enough faceless factories overseas as it is.
Here in Bad Homburg, my two children and my husband help me by packing, helping with photography, and giving me ideas and the necessary backing in the "home office" - and have been since 2018: Thank you!
How did it all start?
It was actually quite spontaneous. I myself am a passionate sauna user. In my hometown there is a very good one with an attached hamam, the classic Ottoman bath. The hammam master there had brought some hammam towels…

The quality of the towels is very good, the fabric is light and absorbent. The only thing I'm not happy with is that it said that 10 towels came in assorted colors, and of the two packs that I bought, in each pack there were 5 black towels and 5 assorted ones, so 50% were not assorted colors, I would have preferred it if they didn't come with so many black towels.
