Alpaca Loca

Alpaca Loca is a sustainable brand, offering fair trade, handmade scarves, plaids, mittens, hats and socks, made of fine alpaca wool.
All products are handmade with love in the Andes Mountains in South America, by a wool weaving community. The wool weavers receive a fair salary and we regularly check the working conditions in the factory ourselves. Through this setup, a purchase of an Alpaca Loca product contributes to the economic growth of Ecuador and alleviating poverty among alpaca herders.We design in Amsterdam, with eye for the tradition, combined with the Western values.

Alpaca wool is hypoallergenic because it contains no lanoline like sheep wool. It’s a natural product with a softer and stronger structure than cashmere. The wool does not itch and it is dirt- and water resistant. The empty fiber isolates better against cold.
The wool used for Alpaca Loca products comes from alpaca’s in Ecuador and Peru.
