Over Iris Nijenhuis

Iris Nijenhuis is een in Amsterdam gevestigde ontwerper met een passie voor lasersnijden en een brede interesse in experimentele vormen en structuren. Door te experimenteren met lasersnijden ontwikkelde ze een techniek waarbij de stof in kleine puzzelstukjes wordt gesneden die de basis vormen van het ontwerpproces. Door de puzzelstukjes handmatig met elkaar te verbinden ontstaan inspirerende vormen en structuren die verschillende producten kunnen vormen. Alle ontwerpen worden met de hand gemaakt in het atelier van Iris in het prachtige Prinseneiland in Amsterdam. Haar ontwerpen zijn voornamelijk confectiekleding, maar je kunt je eigen stuk puzzelen in haar DIY-workshops.
