Les designers néerlandais Joke van de Fliert et Esther van de Visch travaillent ensemble depuis de nombreuses années sur toutes sortes de projets dans leur studio d'Utrecht. Ils travaillent à la fois de manière analogique et numérique et recherchent toutes sortes de designs et d'illustrations selon diverses techniques, comme le dessin, la peinture, la broderie et l'impression. Et depuis qu’ils ont acheté leur propre risographe, ils sont captivés par cette technique inspirante.
La risographie est une technique où l'on utilise une machine à dupliquer pour imprimer les couleurs séparément, couche par couche. Le risographe imprime à basse température et utilise des encres semi-transparentes à base d'huile végétale (soja ou riz). Le résultat rappelle un peu la sérigraphie.

And ever since buying their own risograph, they have been captivated by this inspiring technique.
Risography is a technique where you use a duplicating machine to print colours separately, layer by layer. The risograph prints on low temperature and uses semi-transparent inks based on vegetable oil (soy or rice). The result is somewhat reminiscent of screen printing.
