Je suis Angelina Severino, une artiste visuelle et designer basée à Amsterdam. POSTERESS est mon alter ego, et aussi le nom de mon projet d'art d'affiche qui déclare le design graphique comme une forme d'art indépendante et autosuffisante.
L'affiche en tant que format publicitaire a pratiquement disparu des rues et s'est déplacée vers le Web, où elle s'est transformée en bannières animées, en-têtes de sites Web et publicités contextuelles. Le format de l'affiche artistique imprimée devient alors un artefact. L'affiche trouve désormais sa place dans les maisons privées, les bureaux, les hôtels, où elle conserve son statut "d'art pour le peuple" et ses fonctions publicitaires, cette fois autour de la promotion de l'art au quotidien.
Avec mon travail, je veux montrer que l'affiche n'est pas seulement un outil fonctionnel pour augmenter les ventes, c'est une forme d'art en soi. The poster as an advertising format has practically disappeared from the streets and moved to the web, where it transformed into animated banners, website headers and popup ads. The format of the artistic printed poster therefore becomes an artefact. Poster Art now finds its place in private homes, offices, hotels, where it retains its "art for the people" status and its advertising duties, this time around promoting art in everyday life.
With my work I want to show that the poster is not just a functional tool for boosting sales, it is an art form in itself.
