With the Marine Corps, CiTea's founder traveled all over the world.
From drinking tea in the far north of Norway to the jungle in central Africa and the barren plains in the Middle East. All the places Dio Buchner has been have one thing in common: making tea is a ritual, it connects people and it can even save lives in extreme circumstances!
Childhood friends Jelle and Dio started CiTea in 2013. It turned out to be a combination of confidence, enthusiasm, experience and knowledge about the tea product.

Why tea?
To help you remember why tea is the most consumed drink in the world and why it has a long history. In addition, we want to offer the Netherlands the opportunity to drink really good tea!
CiTea is constantly looking for new teas to provide you with the most special types and flavors from around the world. The supply therefore varies during the year and depends on the harvest. The tea is presented by us in a contemporary way and we combine this with a selection of beautiful tea accessories.
Most importantly, we strive for the highest quality when it comes to service and are happy to share our knowledge about the health benefits of different teas, food pairings, diet and different preparation methods.
Quality
To guarantee quality, CiTea only works with suppliers who comply with the highest European food regulations. All teas are tested by focus groups of connoisseurs, only superior quality is rewarded. The Dutch were the pioneers when it comes to the import of tea from the Far East to Europe. We are proud to still be able to do this in a modern way today. Met het Korps Mariniers reisde CiTea’s oprichter de hele wereld over.
Van thee drinken in het hoge noorden van Noorwegen tot de jungle in centraal Afrika en de kale vlaktes in het Midden Oosten. Alle plaatsen waar Dio Buchner is geweest hebben een ding gemeen: thee maken is een ritueel, het verbindt mensen en het kan zelfs levens redden in extreme omstandigheden!
Jeugdvrienden Jelle en Dio startten CiTea in 2013. Het bleek een combinatie van vertrouwen, enthousiasme, ervaring en kennis over het product thee.

Om je te helpen herinneren waarom thee de meest gedronken drank ter wereld is en waarom het een lange geschiedenis heeft. Daarnaast willen wij Nederland de kans bieden om écht goede thee te drinken!
CiTea is constant zoekende naar nieuwe theeën om je te voorzien van de meest bijzondere soorten en smaken uit de hele wereld. Het aanbod varieert dan ook gedurende het jaar en is afhankelijk van de oogst. De thee wordt door ons gepresenteerd op een eigentijdse wijze en wij combineren dit met een selectie van fraaie thee accessoires.
Het belangrijkste: we streven naar de hoogste kwaliteit als het gaat om service en delen graag onze kennis over gezondheidsvoordelen van verschillende theesoorten, combinaties met eten, dieet en verschillende bereidingswijzen.
