About Wini-Tapp
The home of cut out-and-make puppets, kinetic mobiles and other paper goods.
My name is Louise Burgess and I am the artist/designer behind the wini-tapp brand.
The wini-tapp puppet range was inspired from a children's workshop I was teaching some years back. I designed the puppet kits for the children to make and play with. The children loved the characters and so gave me the idea to produce them more commercially. The mobiles came about by a keen interest in all things kinetic. The mobiles are lovingly and carefully constructed by homeworkers here in the UK.
In more recent times Artist Puppets have been added to the range and which can be found in small independent shops up and down the country. And more still, across the Atlantic and showcased in many Museum and Art Galleries in the US.
The name of the brand comes from my grandmother, an artistic lady who played the accordion, loved Boston Terriers and lashings of red lipstic. I felt she deserved a resurrection of some kind so decided on her name wini-tapp as the brand name.
All the products are produced and printed in the UK and onto FSC papers and cardstocks and packaged in recyclable
polypropylene sleeves.
