About Solid Only
Marga and Emelie met more than 20 years ago. Marga was and still is a cosmetic technologist, Emelie worked as a product developer at the time. They both developed hundreds of cosmetic products such as shampoos, conditioners, body lotions and facial creams. After a lot of wandering, Emelie and Marga met again a few years ago with a recurring question: 'That plastic jungle in the bathroom, there must be another way, right?' Marga had just visited the fairs in Paris and Bologna and said that 'there is a whole SOLID WORLD out there', but that it was not yet available to the consumer. And so their Solidly journey began.
Marga and Emelie ordered and tested everything they could find in solid products online and in stores, at home and abroad. But many were not good enough for them. The range of solid care products contained sulfates, dried out your skin and contained dyes. That could and had to be done differently. Together they started a company with the aim of developing a new generation of solid cosmetics. With their company Solid Only they develop solid cosmetics for others. And based on the knowledge and expertise they gained with that company, they started the Solidly brand, solid bar cosmetics, with which they develop solid care products for consumers.
OUR MISSION
Being able to make a difference with their knowledge and skills; that was the starting point of the Solidly journey for Marga and Emelie. Making soaps is not that difficult, but how do you make the step from liquid care products to sustainable solid bars as small as possible for the customer? That must mean that solid bars have to work just as well or better than their liquid counterparts and that nothing is compromised on quality and performance. Everything for a small step with a big impact.
THE PROCESS
Marga and Emelie develop all Solidly products themselves. They look for the best raw materials for people and the planet, develop together with certified producers, search for suitable fragrances and test with the help of a test panel and assess the consistency of the product in their test lab.

The products come from the best suppliers in Europe. Each producer has its own specialty and craft. Marga and Emelie met them all to see if their vision on sustainability, innovation and hygiene was shared to develop the next generation soap together. Marga en Emelie ontmoetten elkaar meer dan 20 jaar geleden. Marga was en is nog steeds cosmetisch technoloog, Emelie werkte destijds als productontwikkelaar. Beiden ontwikkelden ze honderden cosmetische producten zoals shampoos, conditioners, bodylotions en gezichtscrèmes. Na heel wat omzwervingen kwamen Emelie en Marga elkaar een paar jaar geleden weer tegen met een terugkerende vraag: ' Die plastic jungle in de badkamer, dat moet toch anders kunnen?' Marga had net de beurzen in Parijs en Bologna bezocht en vertelde dat er ' een hele SOLID WORLD outthere is', maar dat deze nog niet bereikbaar was voor de consument. En daarmee begon hun Solidly reis.
Marga en Emelie bestelden en testten alles wat ze toen aan solid producten konden vinden online en in winkels, binnen- en buitenland. Maar veel vonden ze niet goed genoeg. Het aanbod vaste verzorgingsproducten bevatte sulfaten, droogde je huid uit en bevatte kleurstoffen. Dat kon en moest anders. Samen startten ze een bedrijf met als doel het ontwikkelen van een nieuwe generatie solid cosmetica. Met hun bedrijf Solid Only ontwikkelen ze solid cosmetics voor anderen. En vanuit de kennis en kunde die ze met dat bedrijf opdeden, startten ze het merk Solidly, solid bar cosmetics, waarmee ze voor de consument vaste verzorgingsproducten ontwikkelen.
ONZE MISSIE
Met hun kennis en kunde een verschil kunnen maken; dat was het startpunt van de Solidly reis voor Marga en Emelie. Zepen maken is nog niet zo moeilijk, maar hoe maak je de stap van vloeibare verzorgingsproducten naar duurzame solid bars voor de klant zo klein mogelijk? Dat moet betekenen dat solid bars net zo goed of beter moeten werken dan hun vloeibare soortgenoten en er niets wordt ingeleverd op kwaliteit en performance. Alles voor een kleine stap met grote impact.
