Pablo Sarasola, a 53-year-old artist from San Sebastian, is a creator deeply influenced by the Basque sculptural and aesthetic tradition. His work reflects a clear admiration for masters such as Jorge Oteiza and Eduardo Chillida, from whom he draws the strength of emptiness, matter and the search for essential form. Sarasola transfers that spirit to his own language, characterized by thick, energetic strokes and great visual presence, where each line seems loaded with intention and balance. His work is oriented towards decoration, but without losing the artistic soul: it combines expressive power with a sober elegance, designed to integrate into contemporary spaces. Textures, reliefs and the play between light and shadow take center stage, achieving pieces that not only decorate, but also dialogue with the environment. As a whole, Pablo Sarasola's work can be understood as a tribute to the Basque identity – solid, austere and poetic – reinterpreted from a modern and deeply personal sensibility with his graphic work, all the paintings are unique.
