HAND GEWAND is a brand that combines more than 100 years of tradition in the art of glove making with the design and demands of the 21st century. Our family has been designing and producing high-quality leather gloves under the Weikert-Gloves© brand since 1912. In 2021 we decided to start a new chapter in the tradition of leather gloves. Together with our father (trained glove maker) and a fashion designer, we (the great-grandchildren of Prokop Weikert, the founder of Weikert Gloves) decided to found HAND GEWAND by Weikert. Our mission is to continue to honor the tradition and craftsmanship of glove making, but to make the glove a MUST HAVE accessory of the 21st century through new designs, cuts, improved materials and sustainable suppliers! When selecting our suppliers, we pay particular attention to sustainability and the exclusion of any hazardous chemicals. We use sustainably tanned class A leather, which has been proven to be a by-product of the food industry (a waste product). Our offer ranges from luxury leather such as peccary from South America to deerskin from North America and lambskin from Spain. Furthermore, we do not throw away any gloves (B goods, returns, rejects, samples). We donate all gloves to local train station missions that give homeless people warm fingers.
