Unfortunately, our story did not start in 1915, but some 100 years later in the spring of 2015. At the kitchen table of our parental home, we were inspired by wooden sunglasses. We thought it was so great that you could make glasses out of wood that we looked for more possibilities with wood. We soon ended up with wooden watches. We thought everything that existed was boring and way too expensive. This is where our mission began to make sustainable wooden watches sexy and fashionable and to offer them at a fair price. In May 2015, 1915 watches were registered with the Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam and we invested all our savings in the first 150 watches. After the launch in June 2015, the media became interested in our start-up story and even became the first store to become a dealer.
