Over Jette Frölich Design
In 1966 begon Jette Frölich met het ontwerpen van papieren decoraties.
Het Deense interieurmagazine "Bo Bedre" zag haar ontwerp en publiceerde in hun kerstnummer een artikel over haar, en zo begon het hele avontuur.
Ze bracht 3 jaar door in Teheran met haar man en 4 kinderen, en hier werd ze geïnspireerd door de versieringen van de minaret. Het was in deze jaren dat het idee ontstond om zijn eigen bedrijf te starten.
In 1973 verhuisde het gezin terug naar Denemarken, waar Jette Frölich een klein ambachtsbedrijf kocht dat decoraties maakte van natuurlijke materialen, waaronder dennenappels.
Het beroemde Deense Design Center "Den Permanente" presenteerde dat jaar haar eerste kerstcollectie en tegelijkertijd opende Jette Frölich een kerstkamer in haar eigen huis.
Geleidelijk werden haar paperclips populairder dan haar kennis.
In 1976 vroeg Illums Bolighus haar om een 14 meter hoge kerstboom te versieren en dat jaar hun kerstartiest te zijn. Het werd echter een volle 29 jaar.
Vanaf 1980 maakte Jette Frölich decoraties voor de hele Royal Scandinavia Group, waaronder Georg Jensen, Holmegaard, The Royal en Illums Bolighus.
Alle producten van Jette Frölich Design zijn vanaf nul ontwikkeld. Dit betekent dat elk afzonderlijk element in ons productassortiment uniek is gevormd in een samenwerking tussen onze ontwerper, Jette Frölich en onze productontwikkelaar, ik, Johan Frölich.
Diep geïnspireerd door de natuur, zet Jette Frölich haar inspiratie, de rauwe gedachte, met potlood op papier. De beelden ontstaan in haar hoofd, en bij de beelden hoort ook haar kleurkeuze. Vervolgens kiest ze het fijne pantonepapier in de gekozen kleuren en begint ze alle delen van het patroon minutieus uit te snijden en bouwt ze, bijna architectonisch, laag voor laag het uiteindelijke patroon op elk onderdeel van het servies. Elk onderdeel van het servies heeft zijn eigen unieke vormgeving.
Als het ontwerp klaar is, wordt het gedigitaliseerd door onze grafisch ontwerper – in overleg met zowel Jette als Johan Frölich. Als iedereen tevreden is, gaan de ontwerpen naar de porseleinfabriek. Hier, ter plaatse, werkt Johan Frölich nauw samen met de grafische afdeling van de fabriek. om er nogmaals voor te zorgen dat de ontwerpen precies goed zijn. Stickermateriaal wordt geproduceerd en uiteindelijk door hoogopgeleide professionele technici op elk speciaal ontworpen onderdeel van het servies aangebracht. Als finishing touch wordt met de hand een zilveren lijn aangebracht op de rand van elk afzonderlijk product. In 1966, Jette Frölich began designing paper decorations.
The Danish interior design magazine "Bo Bedre" saw her design, and in their Christmas issue published an article about her, and thus started the whole adventure.
She spent 3 years in Tehran with her husband and 4 children, and here she was inspired by the ornamentation of the minaret. It was during these years that the idea of starting his own company was created.
In 1973, the family moved back to Denmark, where Jette Frölich bought a small crafts company that made decorations from natural materials, including pine cones.
The famous Danish Design Center "Den Permanente" presented her first Christmas collection that year, and at the same time Jette Frölich opened a Christmas room in her own home.
Gradually, her paper clips became more popular than her cognitions.
In 1976, Illums Bolighus asked her to decorate a 14-metre-high Christmas tree and be their Christmas artist that year. However, it turned into a full 29 years.
From 1980 Jette Frölich made decorations for the entire Royal Scandinavia Group, which included Georg Jensen, Holmegaard, The Royal and Illums Bolighus.
All Jette Frölich Design products are developed from scratch. This means that every single element in our product assortment is uniquely shaped in a collaboration between our designer, Jette Frölich and our product developer, me, Johan Frölich.
Profoundly inspired by nature, Jette Frölich puts her inspiration, the raw thought, down on paper with a pencil. The images create in her head, and with the images comes her choice of colours. She then chooses the fine pantone paper in the chosen colours and starts to meticulously cut all the parts of the pattern, and builds, almost architectural, layer by layer, the final pattern on each part of the dinner service. Every single part of the dinner service has its own unique design.
Once the design is ready, it is digitalized by our graphic designer – conferring through the process with both Jette and Johan Frölich. When all are satisfied, the designs are sent to the porcelain factory. Here, on site, Johan Frölich works closely with the factory’s graphic dpt. to ensure yet again, that the designs are exactly right. Decal material is produced, and ultimately transferred on to each specially designed element of the dinner service by highly skilled professional technicians. As the finishing touch a silver line is applied by hand to the rim of every single product.
