Blinkenberg CPH is een nieuw designbedrijf opgericht door Nikolaj Blinkenberg Willadsen op basis van oude ambachtelijke tradities.
De familie Blinkenberg Willadsen produceert al vier generaties lang eigen design en meubels ontworpen door onder meer Nanna Ditzel, Hans J. Wegner en Kristian Vedel. De productie eindigde toen Nikolajs grootvader en de grootvaderszus sloten en de faciliteiten begin jaren zestig verkochten.
Met Blinkenberg CPH heeft Nikolaj - de achterkleinzoon van SÃren Willadsen - de familietraditie hervat. Nikolaj is sterk geïnspireerd door het functionalisme en als zodanig de belichaming van â€Danish Design†. Zijn eerste ontwerp was de bekroonde Blinkenbike, een build-a-bike ontworpen voor peuters. Later kwamen de meubels, te beginnen met de sculpturale chaise longue VIP WATERFALL, een ontwerpstudio gebaseerd op de man van Vitruvius van Leonardo Da Vinci.
Het primaire assortiment is de "Brieven van Blinkenberg CPH" op basis van de X-Chair.
Een andere designlijn van het bedrijf is de sculpturale Placid Wave Coffee table met home decor zoals de Lightwave kandelaar die gemaakt is van het overtollige metaal uit de pootproductie. The production ended when Nikolajs grandfather and the grandfathers sister closed and sold the facilities i the early sixties.
With Blinkenberg CPH, Nikolaj - the great-grandson of Søren Willadsen - has resumed the family tradition. Nikolaj is highly inspired by functionalism and as such the epitome “Danish Design”. His first design was the award-winning Blinkenbike, which is a build-a-bike designed for toddlers. Later came the furniture, starting out with the sculptural chaise lounge VIP WATERFALL which is a design studio based on Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian man.
The primary product range is the "Letters from Blinkenberg CPH" based on the X-Chair.
