Beast of Paradise, mijn bescheiden bedrijf gevestigd aan de rand van het bos in Zuid-Nederland. Een plek waar herten door de straten zwerven en waar je 's avonds in slaap valt met het 'hoohoos' van uilen. Het is mijn kleine paradijs...
Begonnen op jonge leeftijd met tekenen, erin gegroeid door mogelijkheden en niet door een directe keuze. Verliefd op alle levende, uitgestorven beesten en de natuur, en daarom de rode draad in mijn werk als illustrator.
Ik, Berith - eigenaar en autodidactisch kunstenaar, begon in 2019 met Beast of Paradise. In de jaren die volgden tot nu toe heb ik verschillende schattige en leuke, grillige kleurpotloodwerken en wetenschappelijke illustraties gemaakt. Ik wil dat mijn illustraties opvallen tussen de massa wenskaarten, posters, kalenders en meer.
Omdat de natuurlijke wereld zo belangrijk voor ons is, probeert Beast of Paradise plastic zoveel mogelijk te vermijden. Ik hergebruik verpakkingsmateriaal en gebruik geen wegwerpplastic voor mijn kaarten. Het kleine beetje plastic dat mogelijk te vinden is, is gemaakt van producten uit het dagelijks leven. Beast of Paradise, my humble business based on the edge of the forest in South of the Netherlands. A place where deer roam the streets and at night you fall asleep to the 'hoohoos' of owls. It is my little paradise...
Started drawing on an early age, grown into it by possibilities not a direct choice. In love with all beasts living, extinct and nature, and therefore the red thread in my work as an illustrator.
Me, Berith - owner and self-taught artist, started with Beast of Paradise in 2019. In the years that followed till now I made several cute and fun, whimsical colour pencil works and scientific illustrations. I want my illustrations to stand out in the mass of greeting cards, posters, calendars and more.
Because the natural world is so very important for us, Beast of Paradise try to avoid plastic as much as possible. I reuse packaging material and I do not use single-use plastics for my cards. The little plastic that can possibly be found are made from everyday life products.
