Holy Lama Naturals is a family business and our factory is located in Kerala, India. The business is run on the 10 principles of fair trade, ensuring we are responsible employers; equal pay is guaranteed, irrespective of gender, and annual wage increases are always made in line with inflation. We are also responsible partners; our business is run on a no-credit principle so all the local farmers and raw material suppliers are paid immediately and at fair prices.
Over 80% of the workforce in the factory in India is female, and mainly from disadvantaged backgrounds, including single mothers and victims of abuse.
We are also as ecologically friendly as possible. The factory’s sustainable model ensures there is less than 1% wastage in production, and any waste is used as fuel or cattle feed, making the company’s carbon footprint exceptionally low.
Our roots are in the manufacturing of essential oils which are have been used in our Ayurvedic natural body care products.
